Does the IR laser work differently from the red laser?

From what I have seen the IR flashes and counts on P1, but does not show where you hit. The red laser shows where you hit, but does not count on P1. Is that correct?

The only difference between our SureStrike laser (IR v Red) is the IR can not be seen by the human eye, but the red you can. Both will activate the targets when hit.
Red = visible; Infrared/IR = invisible
