Six Silhouettes total seem to be the magic number, for now. So all 18 electronic targets should be able to be linked through the Computer.

Mostly yes...you can link 2 sets (6 targets stands) but don't need to link them in order for them to work. (We were told you could link 3 sets (9 target stands) but hasn't been tested extensively to verify 100%).
Note, the USDSA (US Deputy Sheriff Assoc) runs 25 as individual units for school/room clearing. The actual software/computer maybe not be able to track shots if you are using your computer to track the shots, but the targets will still react to the hits. So, you can pretty much use as many as you want as stand alone.
Hopefully that helps, but sounds like you will be more geared towards using them as stand alone and not necessarily needing to see the tracked shots.
